HATTA’S MONUMENTAL MOSAIC

SAN Projects has achieved its first Guinness World Record for the largest marble tile mosaic. The remarkable image spans 2,198.70 m² (23,666 ft² 87 in²) and was completed in collaboration with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) & BrandDubai in Hatta, UAE, on 7 December 2023.
This world-record mosaic serves as a portrait in memory of the founders of the United Arab Emirates, the late H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the First President of the U.A.E. and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and the late H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Vice President of the U.A.E., Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, may Allah rest their souls in peace. Crafted on the Spillway of the Hatta Dam as part of the Hatta Development & Eco-Tourism Project, the artwork covers a total area of 2198.70 square meters and incorporates more than 1 million pieces of marble tile mosaic.
The Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls Project, under which this artwork was created, symbolizes a blend of sustainability, heritage preservation, and economic growth. It marks a significant milestone in transforming Hatta into a unique and sought-after tourist destination in the Middle East, further solidifying our commitment to producing meaningful and impactful projects.
In achieving this Guinness World Record, SAN Projects spearheaded an extensive and meticulous production process. Our involvement spanned from the creative inception through to the final installation, ensuring excellence in every detail.
Production: This endeavor required assembling over 1 million pieces of marble tile, a testament to our logistical prowess and commitment to quality. Every piece was chosen and placed to contribute to the harmonious whole, creating a stunning visual impact.
Supervision: Our project management team played a crucial role, meticulously overseeing each phase of the project. This ensured that our ambitious vision was realized efficiently and effectively, in alignment with the project's larger goals.
